Our Top Five Grub Spots in Cincy

There was a period of time in my life when I was an UberEats driver and against contrary belief, it was a ton of fun. Fun fact about me, I am riddled with anxiety 99% of the time so being an Uber passenger driver was off the table for me. I've watched way too many episodes of SVU to haul a complete stranger in my car. The only thing I had to worry about carrying peoples food was finding their house number in the dark. I was able to explore my city and was exposed to hundreds of awesome hidden gems. I've decided to spare you the extra calories and heartbreak of paying for food that doesn't taste good. Because nothings more frustrating to me than using my hard earned money to pay for food that tastes like hotdog water. If you like good beer and even better food sit back and prepare your salivary glands here are Chris and I's top five favorite grub spots in the city.

1. Four Mile Pig Alexandria, KY : If you're a BBQ lover put down whatever you're doing and go. Go right now. I have been a hardcore Eli's fan since the first time I had their pulled plate platter however, The Pig had me second guessing my loyalty. Don't get me wrong Eli's will always have a special place in my heart but Four Mile Pig is my new favorite BBQ joint hands down! It's a little food truck located outside of the Alexandria Brewing Company with a ton of flavor! The truck is owned by Robert + Tammy who put their heart and soul into the delicious bbq that they serve. Stop by and grab a beer and a bbq pulled pork combo and I promise you won't regret it.

Address: 7926 Alexandria Pike #1, Alexandria, KY 41001

2. City Bird Cincinnati, OH: This was without a doubt always my busiest location and for good reason. After the smells of this place filled my car countless times I had no choice I had to order some for myself. In my opinion, you can always tell the quality of the restaurant by their fries. They have the most mouthwatering parm fries I've ever had. They have a pretty simple menu, fried chicken + fries + coleslaw. They have a variety of yummy sauces if your a person who only orders chicken tenders when you go to a steakhouse City Bird is a must! If your a fan of chicken City Bird is a must! This mouthwatering chicken joint is located on Vine Street in Cincinnati. Keep in mind there isn't a lot of sitting room inside. I recommend calling ahead and eating at Washington Park. Why you're there check out all the other amazing businesses in OTR.

Address: 1344 Vine St, Cincinnati, OH 45202

3. Fusian Cincinnati, Ohio : Fusian is an absolute must for all of my sushi lovers out there. They took the build your own layout and applied to sushi. You can grab a huge delicious roll for around $8. You have limitless options to make your own yummy roll. Do not forget the spicy mayo on top. You won't be sorry! There are a few different locations but my favorite is the one near fountain square. Take a trip to the Contemporary Art Museum and swing by to fill up at Fusian.

Address: 600 Vine St #104, Cincinnati, OH 45202

4. La Hiro Sushi + Sweets Florence, KY : This may be a bit of a drive for some of my east siders but the drive is well worth it. This place is my Chris and I's favorite little date spot at the moment. They have some of the freshest and authentic sushi I've ever had, at a decent price may I add. Don't even get me started on their ramen, its quite incredible. If I could bathe in their broth I promise you I would. It's a tiny little space in a strip mall in Florence but don't let it fool you! The flavor is insanity. They also have a cute little display case of the prettiest sweets you've ever seen. I would highly recommend saving room for dessert.

Address: 8645 Haines Dr, Florence, KY 41042

5. Hofbräuhaus Newport, KY : Last, but definitely not least. If you enjoy a great burger and a good beer Hofbräuhaus should be your next go to spot. As I'm sure most of you know the Cincinnati area has deep German roots and Hofbräuhaus does not disappoint. There are two locations, one in Newport, and one in Munich. I know pretty cool right? They have such a fun, family-friendly vibe that it's hard not to fall in love with, not to mention their bier cheese is to die for! Full disclosure I would also bathe in bier cheese, no shame in my game! I would recommend getting their Dunkel Burger with bier cheese fries. A Dunkel beer is also a must.

Address: 200 E 3rd St, Newport, KY 41071

I hope this helps your indecisive S/O or picky toddler in choosing a place to eat, because we all know that nobody knows what they want to eat. No body, why do you think they're always asking us? A big thank you to all the following restaurants for making me slightly overweight and happy!

XOXO

Casey
