mommy + me mini's

Last week I wrapped up my mommy + me mini's at Ault Park. I was bummed to see all the cherry blossom trees were no longer in bloom but no worries, we still captured some beautiful photos. All of the albums have now been published so I can finally share these families stories with you!

How many mamas are out here not in any of their family photos because they're the ones taking the photos for the family? As a photographer I relate to this more than you could ever know. This is why I was especially excited about these!

I hear this complaint from my moms all the time so if this is you trust me, you are not alone.

Mini events are great, not only do they keep me on my toes but they give me an opportunity to meet new families and catch up with some of my favorites. I had the honor of meeting three new families this year and I can't wait to work with them again in the future.

If you're from Cincinnati you fully understand how terrible our weather can be. It rained ALL WEEK LONG! I was stressed. It was muddy and gross and cold but praise the lord it didn't rain. It was perfectly overcast which if you didn't know can be ideal for great photographs. A cloud can be the best light diffuser in your arsenal.

I purchased twelve feet of fabric from Hobby Lobby (which by the way is way more than I could have ever needed), some pillows and a few other decretive things, and placed them in a beautiful, but muddy field. So what if my romper has permanent grass stains now but I must say it was worth it.

Is it even a real photoshoot if your photographer isn't rolling around in the dirt to grab that perfect shot?

I think not.

It was such a simple setup and became a great addition to the shoot. The fabric ended up being a great prop for the kiddos to run through and play with. We ended up with authentic and real reactions from everyone.

They came. They danced. They played. They jumped. They even played tag.

Not only did these moms now have beautiful photos to print and display they also have the memory of playing in the park with their babies.

A big thank you to all the moms that were a part of this experience. I had so much fun and cannot wait to work with you all in the future.
